Today, President Obama signed the Travel Promotion Act to begin strengthening the US travel industry. They hope to attract 1.6 million additional international travelers by 2012 with the creation of a non-profit organization completing marketing research and putting together a plan for promotion.
Surprisingly, 1 in 7 people’s jobs are tied directly to tourism in the United States. The goal of this bill is to create an economic stimulus for the US by creating jobs and getting tourists to spend their money while they’re here. That’s a great incentive for travel and tourism businesses in the US to start advertising as much as possible. Starting now will attract some of the attention that will inevitably come from this Act.
We all know marketing a business is the key to getting attention. Now that the seasons are changing and people are looking to defrost, it’s time to get your name out there to be found and promoted!
