Here are five of the largest sea creatures ever caught by the fishermen with the biggest bragging rights ever. 5. Largest Crab This one would definitely require a few sets of those crab leg crackers to eat. Weighing in at 33 pounds, it was found in the Northern Pacific and was, from tip to tip, over 6 feet long. ...

Here’s one for the real adrenaline junkies: underwater cave diving. Gives you the chills doesn’t it? It’s an amazing experience for passionate divers – it’s not a seasonal sport since it’s normally done in milder climates such as Florida and Mexico. If you’re a dedicated diver and the “usual” thrill of scuba just doesn’t cut it for you anymore, this could be an interesting alternative. Cave diving requires the perfect balance between recklessness and precision. You’ve got to have the guts to try it--that’s where the recklessness comes in! As for the precision, it takes months of additional instruction on top of regular scuba lessons to get your certification. Diving in caves calls for specialized equipment and demands the mastering of buoyancy control, gas management, among other diving skills, from the brave souls who try it. Cave divers explore deeper into crevasses in groups and follow a guideline that runs from the dive leader to the open...

John Mayer @ Scripps Pier -A.Ghiglia Thanks BNQT.com and Jason Ford You don't have to work for the National Weather Service to understand that all signs are pointing to the return of El Nino this year in Southern California. In the last week alone San Diego has received close to six inches of rain in some parts. Winds have reached up to 40+ mph at the coast. Flood, mudslide and even tornado warnings have all been issued over the past six days. Oh, and let's not forget that some of the biggest surf in quite a long time has hit Southern California this week as well. Who knew that such an infantile phenomenon could wreak such havoc? Well, other than most parents I suppose. BNQT.com - El Nino - Beauty and the Beast...

January has been a rough month for offshore but we continue to have banner days when we can get out. This past Tuesday (Jan. 19th) we had a couple from N.Y. out for the day and a swear if we caught one red snapper we must have boated over one hundred. Although all red snappers have to be released right now there is no shortage of them. I am not kidding when I tell you these two folks went through 15 pounds of sardines working these snappers over. The bite was so strong i could not get passed the snappers to pick up flounders or trigger fish or even a grouper. The cobia bite is about to turn on here in central Florida so if you have a hankering to get out fishing then quit your wishing and lets go fishing. You can also keep up to date with our fishing reports by going to www.copoutfishing.com and sign up to receive them. They are free and you can opt out any time. The boys here at WaterplayUSA.com have also posted some up for us so that you can read them as well. Thanks...

A friend recently told me that one of her goals for the new decade was to try something called “stand up paddle surfing”. I had never even heard of it! After a little bit of searching, I discovered that stand up paddle surfing is actually growing to be a really popular water sport in the US. It was first started way back when in Hawaii as a way for surf instructors to watch over a group of students in the water from a higher viewpoint. They could see what everyone was doing and check the swells that were coming in. It was brought to the continental...
